Whiskey Live 2022

Whiskey Live Dublin is back, after 2 1/2 years!

We look forward to meeting lots of old friends and many new faces in the RDS on 10th and 11th June.

Why not drop by and say hello if you are there. We will be tasting Bunnahabhain Single Malt from Islay, a range of up and coming Japanese whiskies, a South African 12 year old Malt and a great Rye from FEW. There might even be a tot of an award wining Bourbon!

And later, much later try a refreshing Amarula over rocks to have an indulgent reflective moment.

See you there!

Ocho 8 The World’s Best Tequila – According To The Ultimate Spirits Challenge

Every year since 2010, the Ultimate Spirits Challenge has convened in the suburbs of New York to judge the best of the best across all categories of liquor.

Tequila Ocho secured the Chairman’s Trophy for its unaged Plata. The bottling notched an impressive 96 points out of a possible 100—higher than all other tequilas regardless of category. Judges were taken aback by the liquid’s refined elements of slate, citrus and pepper.

A great accolade for Ocho 8, on its 12th birthday!

Flaming Pig….. A flaming good Irish Whiskey

MacCormaics is delighted to introduce Flaming Pig Irish Whiskey to the portfolio. Made in Skibbereen Co Cork, it is a blend of Irish Grain and Malt whiskies, some of which are 10 years old. The whiskies are blended together and then allowed to finish in oak charred barrels. The char is level 5, so basically burnt! However, it gives Flaming Pig bags of flavour and just a hint of smoke.

Flaming Pig will be available from the end of August in most Independent off licenses.

We have a limited number of sampling kits available for Irish customers. Please contact us using the contact form for yours!

World´s Best Vineyard and The Best Vineyard in South America: Zuccardi Valle de Uco (Argentina). The Best Vineyard in Europe: Domäne Wachau (Austria).

Sebastián Zuccardi affirmed “I believe this to be a great recognition to a family that believes in the place where it lives and grows. The winery is inspired by the Andes Mountains, which is what determines the identity of our wines; the winery seeks to be part of the landscape, without competing with the environment, so it will be current for a long time since it is based on the identity of the place.
