Ocho 8 is one of the few tequilas which is still made slowly, in the old fashioned way, with lots of care, pride and love. This results in a fine quality spirit that accentuates the agave flavour.
Ocho is the first tequila to designate both the year it was produced and the precise field from which the agaves were grown. Each batch comes from a different field or “Rancho” contributing distinctive characteristics of that place. It is well understood in the wine industry that “terroir” has a tremendous effect on the grapes used for wine-making. This concept is now beginning to be understood for tequila.
Ocho is made by Carlos Camerena, a third generation tequilero. Carlos’s family own the Rancho from where agave are sourced and the distillery where the tequila is made. Ocho came about from a partnership with with Thomas Estes who founded Cafe Pacifico and La Perla Bars in Europe.
Carlos and Tomas produce an exceptional range of tequila that are made slowly, in an artisan way
