The origins of Torre del Gall are associated with the splendour of Catalan viticulture in the
mid-19th century. The winery is located in the heart of the Penedès region, the birthplace of cava, the Catalan sparkling wine and is part of the famous Segura Viudas family. The typical Mediterranean climate is ideal for the vines to flourish thanks to many hours of sunlight and warm winters. Careful nurturing and use of the traditional Cava grape varieties such as Macabeo, Xarello and Parellada give the winery its own identity.
The origins of this wine region date back to Medieval times. The vineyards located at altitudes between 200 and 600 metres in the Sant Cugat Sesgarrigues area in the heart of the Penedès. The Vineyards are between 40 and 80 years old, and are still hand harvested, which ensures excellent grape quality.
The winery is completely family-owned with many years of tradition and experience in the wine-growing sector, especially in the world of Cavas.
The Brut Reserva is like all Cava – it is made by Méthode Champenoise where the second fermentation is in the bottle. This give a lovely persistent and delicate bead. It is aged in the cellar for 15 months before released.
The Torre del Gall Brut Reserva Cava has received international recognition including a Gold Medal at the 2017 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles
